Call out to James Patterson

One of the world’s wealthiest and accomplished authors thinks that there is racism in the publishing industry against white males. He has the cojones to cite Woody Allen’s memoir being dropped by a major publisher in 2020 as one of the horrors. Another of misguided elegies exclaims that white males are experiencing hard times in getting hired in Hollywood, radio, television and other formats in the entertainment industry. GUFFAW!

In the past almost two decades, Patterson has been collaborating with mostly white males, although he recently published Run, Rose Run with Dolly Parton and 22 Seconds with Maxine Paetro. His books live on every major bestsellers list and on the bookshelves of millions of readers. His collaborative efforts have lined his personal coffers, the publishing industry and hopefully, his collaborators.

I think his glasses must be too tight on his head or he must have a new book to peddle to think and relay such farsighted drivel to the press. Oh, look! So far, this year Patterson has five new books for sale, four are collaborations and the latest is The Stories of My Life by James Patterson. Such discrimination he must have experienced in his memoir and the pages of those full price hardcover books.

I laughed out loud at his audacity. Woody Allen is an alleged pedophile and married his adopted daughter. One or both of those instances are contributing factors to his book being dropped from his original publisher, Hachette Book Group. As for the film industry, here is the update on the discrimination experience by Mr. Patterson’s brethren versus other races of human beings. https://socialsciences.ucla.edu/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/UCLA-Hollywood-Diversity-Report-2022-Film-3-24-2022.pdf

Mr. Patterson, please take a seat and go back to counting your coins.
