Two marketing people decided to be the arbiters of let’s set a trend, by researching, devising and introducing the hashtags: #BlackOutTuesday and #TheShowMustBePaused.
Words matter, I am not a show and I am not a trend!
- Death is permanent. A blackout is a temporary medical condition. You insinuated on the low, that the protests like this social media experiment/moment is a temporary situation.
2. I feel one of the underlying tenets with this social media initiative: Ooh, this is a reality show and it will be over soon. I’ll ignore it, watch it for a little while change the channel and wonder when the new season starts.
3. The empty black square reminded me of a casket awaiting the next person who may have experienced internal or external victimization
4. The black square was basically a beta emoji. It had no feeling, no direction and no instructions. Giving out instructions afterwards was too late and impacted too much great information that people had previously posted.
5. The music industry which historically has been the biggest offender in impacting the economic stability of musicians especially African-American f/k/a colored, Negro and Black is laughable. Let’s go biblical with teaching a man/woman to fish instead of giving him a fish. How about renegotiating contracts for artists, so…
