#ICU2020 New Hashtag

It’s the 1st month and year zero of the new decade. I know I’m still adjusting to writing a new date and I didn’t join a gym because it’s too crowded with the resolution people. I did start reaching out and seeing people that I haven’t seen in a while. I don’t mean via Facebook or Facetime, I mean in person. A human you can physically hug (of course, with consent). Well, we all know we have a ton of friends, using the analytics of our favorite social media platform; but how many of them can we actually meet in person for a meal. Traditionally, that is breakfast, lunch and dinner. It could be a meet up for tapas, tea, coffee, alcoholic beverage or at the gym. It’s what we are missing, in person contact; their personal rhythm versus an algorithm. Listening to their pitch, tone, watching their body language, commenting on their clothes, hair and enjoying a deep gut laugh versus an LOL.

I created a hashtag in 2016 and did not see as many people as I wanted, so I decided now is a great time to urge everyone to use this hashtag #ICU2020 for all the people that you enjoy when you see each other live. Take a pic and use the hashtag. We crave human contact and catching up with your people is a great way to honor your friendship for real. I used #ICU2020 twice today.

I hope to use #ICU2020 at least ten times this week. Is it a challenge? YES! Should you accept it? YES! Stop saying, “Oh we should get together soon”. Well, you are invited, strongly encouraged, cajoled and given a key to get off your device and vibe in person with your people. You might have to thin the herd, when you find out who wants to get together instead of the myriad of excuses that are boring and annoying.

#ICU2020 It’s on!
