Phases of Violet

I’ve touched violets

In the garden and vase

A dried bookmark to replace

One tattered and frayed

I’ve met a Violet

Articulating and gesticulating

Opining with the dowager’s hump

Doyenne’s coiffure

Prefers coffee with scones

A treasured trove

I’ve felt blue

Down with brown

Been in the pink

Wore rose colored glasses

Malaise through purple haze

Pause to deduce

Spectral hues with clandestine clues

Violet
