Shoutout to Dr. Dre
You are a producer and a winner. You will be writing two checks to your ex-wife Nicole Young for a total of $100 million dollars. I read the initial headlines from when this divorce debacle started. I chuckled at their pettiness and the accusations. I erroneously thought that Nicole Young would get half of his earnings, since they live in the community property state of California. Dr. Dre would feel the pain in writing those checks. In conversations I had today, we all agreed that 100 million dollars was a lot of money and we could live off of it for the rest of our lives. My bougie friends were talking about vacations and shopping. My frugal friends hope Mrs. Young is frugal. Our consensus was the money should last at least until she could collect social security. Mrs. Young is fifty-one years old. A couple of people said it would last a decade.
We were all wrong. Dr. Dre is worth $800 million dollars, so he is writing two checks for a tad bit more than twelve percent of his net worth. Along with her divorce papers and the checks, Mrs. Young walks away with luxury vehicles, property, bank accounts that she managed and jewelry. In the court documents, Mrs. Young said that she spends two million dollars a month. I’m not a mathematician, but she is spending twenty four million dollars a year. She has to pay her lawyers, pay her security detail, pay taxes on the houses, register and maintain the cars, eat and go shopping…
