Support vs Supportive Part II

It’s been eight soon to be nine weeks since we could freely roam the streets in New York. Who knew that one of the movies of your life imitating art would be Groundhog Day or Escape from New York. It has been a gauntlet of emotions with an epic amount of food intake and plenty of naps. Have you been creative at home or online? How have you supported someone in their career or newest endeavor?

Yes, we are all sheltered in place, but that means you have to make more of an effort to support or be supportive of your family and friends. Have you made a concrete date and time to talk via video, call or text? Carving out space is critical to someone who would love to listen, show or talk about their work or themselves. For everyone that has not used a video conferencing platform, there is a call in number; so a relative or a friend can still participate.

A couple of friends have decided to become artists and paint. They have watched and love Bob Ross, but their creations are abstract. The joy in their voices describing the process of finding and purchasing supplies, carrying them home, setting up a workspace to place the brushes, drop cloth, paint and canvases is hilarious. I’m excited to be in the queue for new work. I was suggesting places where they can order supplies. I appreciate their spontaneity, lighting and producing from their candle of creativity. The results are cool. The work is colorful and ethereal. I tried a paint and sip class with friends awhile ago. I learned that I excel at sip and I should stick to painting walls.
