What if I can’t afford groceries?

So I go to at least two grocery stores to purchase food. You know how it is, the quality of items vary from store to store, so I drive to two different places on two different days to break up my trip. I know, I know with the sky high gas prices, I am going to have to suck it up and stick to one store. Anyway, I bought the staples: milk, bread, yogurt, meat and soda. I did also buy some cheese, crackers and snacks. I unloaded all the items on the conveyor belt, handed over my discount card and the results made my head ache. My savings were way less than usual. I did factor in that fancy cheese price which was very bougie, but I deserved a treat.

Well, as I used my debit card and burned a bigger hole in my bank account; I was thankful that the cashier did say that I ended up saving a few dollars. One or two of the aforementioned items were on sale which was a bonus for me. As I loaded all of the groceries in my recycled bags, I was thinking of the prices. I rolled out to the car and double checked the receipt. I definitely need to dial back on snacks and no more fancy cheese for me. I’m going to have to start cutting coupons, shopping at the discount stores and think about growing some vegetables indoors.

Seriously, what if I can’t afford to buy groceries?
