Ready with the remotes

Did you know that the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) has a television station? I did not. Which proves that there are a bazillion too many streaming channels on the internet. IMDb TV is owned by Amazon and founded in 2019, which may be several reasons why I didn’t know that this television division existed. It started as a free video on demand channel accessed on IMDb, its affiliates and Amazon Fire. The original idiotic name of this entity was IMDb Freedive. That atrocious name was rebranded to IMDb TV. The channel is now under the umbrella of Amazon studios and provides reruns of shows, such as Mad Men and Hell’s Kitchen and original content.

Judy Justice is the latest iteration on the resume of Judge Judy Sheindlin and is a foundation block of original content on the platform. A fabulous addition is Bosch:Legacy. Bosch the original series recently ended its seventh season, and this series starts with the main character’s new career path.

The streaming service is going to experience another name change and be labeled Amazon Freevee at the end of April. Imagine the marketing executive who has been smiling and enjoying their bonus with such a fantastic name rebrand. I guess that will make me a free veEr? Whoa, that is a swing and a miss. Amazon, you should have had a subscriber or fan vote because this new name sucks. I just saw the logo. It might be a fun pair of socks or sweatband, otherwise, a loud boo. If the content is great, the audience will overlook the name. Time will tell if this name is better than the entire CNN+ channel.
